Miguel Álvarez hopes to continue playing the same way as in recent matches against UD Ibiza (Sunday, 12pm CET)
Villarreal B head coach, Miguel Álvarez, spoke to the media about the upcoming match against UD Ibiza, corresponding to Matchday 22 of Group 2 of the 2024/25 Primera RFEF season, which will be played this Sunday at 12pm CET at the Mini Estadi of the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground.
The Mini Submarine go into the game on the back of two draws against Real Madrid Castilla (2-2) and Antequera CF (1-1). Both with excellent sensations and a bitter taste for conceding the equaliser in extra time. “We are working on this. It’s something that happens to the youth teams and, in general, to young teams. We want to solve it and we will do it by working hard. We don’t consider the other option, which is to waste time, as others do. I don’t like it and we’re never going to do it,” said Miguel Álvarez about the situation.
Despite the fact that the B team’s victories are slipping away in the last few minutes, Álvarez is very confident and satisfied with the good game his players are playing: “I’ll keep the good things. We’ve played some pretty good games. In Madrid, we played a great second half, in which we could have won the game. We lacked the right touch and we didn’t do it. I’ll keep those good feelings. What we lost in the last few minutes we’ll make up for in the next few days.”
As for the signings, Miguel Álvarez was very happy with the reinforcements of Slavy and Víctor Valverde: “We are happy with both of them. We always sign great players and good people. The signings are fantastic. They are giving us a lot of things. They are going to be very important players. We needed reinforcements up top. We were short up top. We were short of players. The squad is more balanced now. We have more options in the team.”
