It was a negative result that ended a spectacular run of nine games unbeaten for the Yellows reserves. The Mini Submarine are second in Group III of Segunda División B, only one point off leaders Hércules. Espanyol B are ninth in the table with 16 points, and come into the game on the back of a 0-1 loss to Ontinyent. That was their second defeat in a row.
