Juan Foyth and Gero Rulli have been congratulated by their team-mates after winning the World Cup
The world champions are here. Gero Rulli and Juan Foyth have returned to Vila-real to rejoin the Yellows and prepare with the rest of their teammates for Saturday’s match against Valencia CF (4:15pm CET).
The players arrived at the Villarreal CF training ground wearing a shirt commemorating Argentina’s third world cup, won a few days ago in Qatar. Their team-mates gave them a warm welcome and congratulated them on the title on their arrival at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground. All of this was watched by Villarreal TV cameras.
In addition to Gero Rulli and Juan Foyth, Gio Lo Celso, who was unable to be part of the Argentina squad due to injury, has also joined the team this Wednesday, but he did take part in the celebrations in Qatar to mark the brilliant victory achieved by the South American team.
A historic win for Argentina
On Sunday 18th December at 16.00 hours the world came to a standstill to present one of the greatest spectacles in the world of sport, the final of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, where Argentina won the coveted trophy. An Argentina team that included two VIllarreal players, Juan Foyth and Gero Rulli.
The defender fought hard to be at the World Cup after an injury that sidelined him for several weeks. Despite this, he overcame adversity and was able to fulfil his dream of playing in the World Cup. For his part, Gero Rulli was rewarded for his great form by being called up by Lionel Scaloni to be part of the team that would go on to win the World Cup.
