The international grassroots football tournament organised by the Submarine will bring together 268 teams and 12 venues from 2nd to 5th April
Everything is ready for the great grassroots football festival! Villarreal CF are putting the final touches to the Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter 2026, which will take place from 2nd to 5th April in the province of Castellón. The prestigious tournament organised by the Yellow Submarine promises to be a sporting spectacle and once again breaks its own participation record.
The figures for this edition are truly remarkable. The tournament will feature 268 teams from 101 football clubs. Over the course of the competition, 628 matches will be played, bringing together 4,000 players and 600 coaches from different parts of the world. The tournament reinforces its clear international character with delegations from countries such as the United States, Brazil, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Colombia, among many others.
Given its scale, the event will attract more than 20,000 fans to our province, generating an impressive economic impact of €3 million. To host this major sporting event, the tournament will take place across six municipalities (Vila-real, Les Alqueries, Benicàssim, Almassora, Nules and la Vall d’Uixó), with matches played across a total of 12 venues and 31 football pitches.
An unforgettable experience centred at the Estadio de la Cerámica
The competition will officially begin with a spectacular opening ceremony at the Estadio de la Cerámica. The Yellows’ home will open its doors on the afternoon of Thursday 2nd April to welcome all participating teams, who will parade on the pitch in an event full of emotion. After an intense weekend of matches, the exciting final day will take place on Sunday 5th April, featuring the decisive knockout rounds and culminating in the closing ceremony and trophy presentation at 1pm at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground.

For four days, the province will live and breathe football. Below is a look at the key events you won’t want to miss from this major international tournament:
- Thursday 2nd April: Following the arrival of the teams and accreditation process, the big moment will come at 7:30pm with the spectacular Opening Ceremony at the Estadio de la Cerámica. A parade in which all participants will step onto the pitch and receive their medals.
- Friday 3rd April: The ball starts rolling with the beginning of the competition and the group stage. Throughout the day, players and coaching staff will also begin to enjoy exclusive Tours of the Estadio de la Cerámica.
- Saturday 4th April: The tension rises with the decisive qualification day, which will divide teams into the exciting Gold, Silver and Bronze phases. In the evening, at 9:30pm, the club will host the traditional Leaders’ Dinner at the Estadio de la Cerámica to strengthen bonds and promote the tournament’s positive atmosphere.
- Sunday 5th April: The grand finale. The semi-finals and highly anticipated finals in each category will be played in the morning. The tournament will conclude at 1pm with the closing ceremony and trophy presentation (champions, runners-up, top scorer and MVP) on Pitch 6 at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground.
