The Yellows were overcome by an impressive Real Madrid B, despite Aixa Salvador’s goal
Villarreal Women started the match at the Ciudad Real Madrid Florentino Pérez well, with Nerea Pérez almost putting in a perfect cross. However, no-one was able to get on the end of it, with the ball ending up in no man’s land and being trapped by the home side’s goalkeeper. Minutes later, Vicky got her head on the end of a corner. But after then, Villarreal were outplayed by a Real Madrid B team who were in fine form.
The opener came from Marisa García in the 23rd minute (1-0), and they increased their lead in the 28th minute through Paula Comendador (2-0). The Yellows continued to fight, with Aixa Salvador and Cienfu having chances, but the ball wouldn’t go in. The bad luck continued for Virginia García’s team with Paula Guerrero having to leave the pitch for a possible reason.
Only ten minutes into the second half, Aixa Salvador cut the lead to make it 2-1. The joy didn’t last very long, as the home side scored from the following action, with Marisa García making it 3-1. Virginia García made a number of changes, bringing on Lucía Gómez, Rita Almeida and Laura Riquelme, but the fresh legs were unable to change the outcome.
