Jordi Ferriols’ team were defeated by a Pau Comendador effort
Villarreal Women were narrowly defeated by Real Madrid B, who came away with a winner from from Spain youth international Pau Comendador (0-1), in a match that was marked, from start to finish, by the strong gusts of wind that hit Vila-real.
The game had barely got underway when the first chance came for the Yellows. Aixa, with great impetus, escaped from the away defenders and shot, but her powerful effort was off target. Shortly afterwards it was Lauris who had another clear chance, but the ball ended up in the goalkeeper’s hands.
For their part, Real Madrid B stepped up their attacking lines, giving Jordi Ferriols’ side a scare or two. First it was Pau Comendador and then Iris’s fierce shot, which Montse Quesada saved without any problems. And so the first half came to an end.
In the second half, David Fernández’s team took the lead. After 51 minutes, Spain youth international Pau Comendador scored the first and only goal of the game (0-1). The home side tried to react quickly, and the chances came and went: Alexia Jr, Aixa and even Luna González. However, the ball never found its way in and the game came to an end with the score at 0-1.
