The club and the first-team players will give €100,000 to collaborate directly with those tied to the club most affected by the meteorological catastrophe
Villarreal CF will provide economic support to season-ticket holders, club staff and academy players who suffered large material damage due to the flooding in Valencia last year.
The club, and first-team players, will donate around €100,000 to collaborate directly with roughly 100 Groguets and people tied to the club who suffered damage to their homes or vehicles. The economic donation also includes money raised by Villarreal CF in the charity auction of the shirts worn for the match against Deportivo Alavés, which took place on 9th November 2024, the week after the catastrophe.
Free renewal for season-ticket holders affected by the flooding
Villarreal CF will renew, free of charge, the season tickets for the 2025/26 season of around 100 season-ticket holders from areas affected by the flooding.
For the match against Real Betis, which took place on 15th December, Villarreal CF invited all season-ticket holders from the affected areas to have a special experience at the Estadio de la Cerámica, providing them with transport, inviting them to the museum and organising a meet and greet with players after the match.
Aiming to return to normal after the flooding in Valencia
Beyond this initiative, Villarreal CF has donated €2 million to the ‘Alcem-se Esport’ programme to rebuild the football pitches affected by the flooding in Valencia. Thanks to this contribution to the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso, the club has restored the fields of La Torre, Beniparrell, Encrucijadas in Aldaia, as well as the fields of Catarroja and Algemesí, which are currently being restored and will be back to normal in the coming weeks.
In addition, a few days after the tragedy, the club made a donation of €500,000 to Caritas and the Red Cross to help those affected by the flooding.
