The Yellows and the Hammers headline Group G of the million-dollar tournament
TST (The Soccer Tournament) have confirmed the groups and schedule for this summer’s competition, which will take place in Cary, North Carolina, from 4th to 9th June. The men’s section is split into 12 groups of four teams. Villarreal have been drawn in Group G, alongside West Ham United, Tenfifteen FC, and Brown Ballers FC.
The Submarine’s TST squad will feature legendary former player Giuseppe Rossi, Sergio Asenjo and Mateo Musacchio among others.
They will first face Dallas-based Tenfifteen FC, led by former FC Dallas player Zach Loyd, with kick-off at 3:30pm CEST (9:30am local time) on Wednesday 4th June. Next up will be English side West Ham United FC, which starts at 11:30pm CEST (5:30pm local time), on the same day.
Their final group match will be on Thursday 5th June at 7:30pm CEST (1:30pm local time), against Brown Ballers, a team aiming to represent the South Asian community on the global stage.
The top two teams from each group and eight third-placed teams with the highest point totals will advance to the knockout stage, which will get underway with the Round of 32 on 6th June.
All of Villarreal’s games will be shown internationally on YouTube. The match against West Ham United will be broadcast live on ESPNU in the US.
In addition to Villarreal, TST’s men’s field also includes clubs like Atlético de Madrid, AFC Bournemouth, Borussia Dortmund, Cagliari Calcio and Club América.
