The special kit that the Yellow Submarine will wear against Athletic Club on Matchday 31 of LALIGA EA Sports is now on sale
Villarreal CF have released the shirt they will wear for the Retro Matchday, promoted by LALIGA EA Sports. The garment, inspired by the kits worn by the Yellow Submarine from the 1990s and early 2000s, is now available in the Online Store and, from Friday 20th, will also be on sale in person in the club’s Official Stores.
For the clash against Athletic Club, corresponding to Matchday 31 and scheduled for the weekend of 12th April, Villarreal will exceptionally wear this distinctive kit, accompanied by commemorative shorts and socks with the same retro aesthetic.
A living legacy
This retro shirt brings back the era in which Villarreal CF began to flourish and take their first steps among the elite. That Yellow Submarine that captivated the world with its attacking style, after establishing itself in the top tier of Spanish football and beginning to write its history in Europe.

The retro shirt features the historic Joma logo and Villarreal CF badge, both embroidered. It combines a classic aesthetic with modern sports textile technology. It includes an elegant ribbed polo collar and ribbed cuffs to optimise fit and comfort. A contrasting trim has also been added to enhance the design. And with the main sponsor, PAMESA Cerámica, in red.
Its sporty cut adapts to every movement, allowing complete freedom. It is made from a technical fabric that combines lightness and durability, while ensuring breathability and comfort. The satin finish enhances the colour and reinforces the retro look of the garment.
A very special session
Villarreal CF wanted to film this special session with the three legendary players, Gerard Moreno, Víctor Fernández ‘Chingu’, and Gica Craioveanu, using analogue equipment to pay tribute to the memories of that era.
