The Yellow Submarine fall to a solid Girona side at the Estadio de la Cerámica (0-2)
Villarreal fell to Girona at the Estadio de la Cerámica in what was a direct fight for European places in the LaLiga Santander table. The Yellows tried everything, but could not find a way to score past the Catalonian side. The visitors’ goals were scored by Stuani and Lozano (0-2). The match was not without controversy though, as the referee did not point to the spot after Juanpe handled the ball in the box, nor after Girona’s second goal was preceded by an offside play that also went uncalled.
Villarreal’s next match will be at the Gran Canaria stadium against UD Las Palmas (Sunday, 11th March).
