The club has carried out a clinic in the Estadio Maracaná in Panama City and will launch a new academy in the country

Villarreal CF continues crossing borders. Now it’s arrived in Panama. Last week, the club carried out a clinic at the Estadio Maracaná in Panama City, after recently spending time in Miami and Puerto Rico.

Through the International Department, the Villarreal CF Soccer Academy shared its experiences and footballing knowledge to boys and girls from Panama with a unique way of working which has allowed the Yellows to become one of the leading football academies not only in Spain, but also in Europe.

Those who took part had a unique experience, getting close to Spanish professional football. What’s more, from all the players, two will be chosen for a stay in Spain at Villarreal’s facilities.

The new academy in Panama will open in April

Next April, Villarreal CF will inaugurate a new academy in Panama. Players and coaches will train under the Villarreal CF methodology that will allow them to develop their potential as players and carry out training days for local coaches. Furthermore, those coaching at Villarreal Panama will have access to the Villarreal CF professional curriculum and academy methodology.

Academies around the world

In 2019, Villarreal CF launched one of its biggest international projects, with football academies in different countries around the world. Under the name of Villarreal Academy, this project hopes to form players around the world under the Yellows’ recognised philosophy and methodology.

With this launch in Panama, Villarreal now has nine international academies around the world. They are now up and running in Nebraska, Virginia, New York, North Carolina and Texas (USA), San Juan (Puerto Rico), Halland (Sweden) and Melbourne (Australia).

Villarreal CF also has affiliated schools in Kashima (Japan) and Seoul (South Korea). The club also has agreements in place in Andorra, Rosario (Argentina) and Dalian (China).
