Denis Suárez is motivated and excited prior to the match against Liverpool at El Madrigal
The Villarreal CF midfielder, Denis Suárez, analysed this Thursday’s hugely important clash against Liverpool FC (9:05pm CET, El Madrigal). The number 18 talked about the excitement of the whole squad before the big game and also wanted to say that Villarreal deserve to play in a European Final: “Everyone is so excited, it’s obvious that we all can’t wait to play in this Semi-final and above all to get to the Final. This club has come close to doing it on many occasions but hasn’t quite achieved it, so we really want to make it happen now”.
Denis Suárez also gave his opinion about Thursday’s opponent, with regard to both the UEFA Europa League and the Premier League: “It’s going to be a really attractive tie, we’re both teams that play with an attacking style, look to go forward and transition quickly, which is why I expect it to be an intense and open game. They’re not doing too well in the league, but in the Europa League they’re having a great competition”.
The winger from Galicia also emphasised Liverpool’s historic record as an extra incentive to go into the clash with even more motivation: “This year is special, we’ve drawn Liverpool as an opponent, who are a historic team in Europe, and this also makes us really excited, as it will be a great match and a great showcase for the club and players alike”.
To finish, Denis Suárez commented on how the squad is preparing for the match and the “keys” to get through to the next round: “We’re working a lot on how we’re going to play, we’re preparing conscientiously and that’s how it should be. We have to have a good game at home, not let in any goals and go there with the advantage”.
