The club signs the Argentine midfielder on a free transfer, tying him to the Submarine until June 2031
Villarreal CF have reached an agreement with Argentine footballer Thiago Fernández, who joins the club as a free agent and will be linked to the Yellow Submarine for the next five and a half seasons, until June 2031.
The new Groguet midfielder, who will be part of the first-team setup, is already training as a Villarreal CF player under the orders of Marcelino García Toral.
Thiago Cruz Fernández (Buenos Aires, April 3, 2004) is a midfielder with quality, a good shooting technique and the ability to provide assists and score goals. He is a box-to-box player with confidence and flair in decisive areas.
The young Argentine talent recently ended his contractual link with Club Atlético Vélez Sarsfield, where he developed as a player throughout the club’s youth academy.
He made his debut with Vélez’s first team in 2023, establishing himself as an important attacking presence. In his 48 appearances for the Argentine side, he scored 6 goals and provided 9 assists. In December 2024, he suffered a serious knee injury and did not feature again for the Argentine club.
