Villarreal CF presents its Clash Royale team

The Yellows have confirmed their participation in the League of Professional eSports (LPE)

Villarreal CF has underlined its commitment to eSports. The club has presented its new Clash Royale team at the Estadio de la Cerámica. The game is one of the leading games in the current gaming community. The team is made up of four players of proven experience, a manager and also an analyst. The new signings will defend the Yellow Submarine’s interest in the world of electronic sports. From January, they will do it in the new competition, the League of Professional eSports (LPE).

At the moment, the Yellows have two more eSports teams: a Rocket League side and a FIFA 19 one. The incorporation of Clash Royale makes the eSports even bigger for the Submarine, something that will no doubt bring joy to Villarreal fans.

The Clash Royal team, who are now familiar with the Estadio de la Cerámica, will be formed of four experienced players. Jorge ‘Karnage’ Bailon is a Clash Royale League world champion, and Asian champion with the Nova Esports team; Mario ‘Michifu’ Fierro has previously won the TLP – Island of Gamers, and is a former Movistar Riders player; Alejandro ‘Regue’ Reguira is an Orange Cup runner-up; while Diego ‘Darkoh’ Saéz has come through the Nova Esports academy and has been Top 2 in the RLP Europa.

The Yellows side will also be made up of manager Carlos ‘Yeke’ Celorrio, formerly with Baskonia and Movistar RIders. “The team is aiming for the top and is ready to win every match, always respecting their opponents,” says Yeke. He also consideres that ‘the complicity, respect and camaraderie that exist between everyone since the beginning means that the team can train at 100% already, something that can be difficult for other sides.” Analyst Arnau ‘MaestroKiller’ Sánchez completes the team.

Villarreal CF will also compete in the League of Professional eSports (LPE)

The Yellows announced in the summer that it was going to make its eSports side professional under the Esportia initiative. From this, the project has carried on growing, and continues to do so, entering the League of Professional eSports. That is an exclusive competition for sporting entities from around the round, that will start on 22nd January 2019. Real Sociedad, Besiktas and Tokyo Verdy are some of the teams confirmed to be taking part.

Villarreal believe that entering in the LPE and expanding to include Clash Royale, a game that has 128 million daily users, is a new opportunity to be present in a growing sector that allows to club to expand and strengthen its image.
