Villarreal CF and defender Álvaro González have come to an agreement to extend the centre back’s contract until 2021. Thus, Álvaro, whose original contract was up in 2020, extends his link to Villarreal CF for another season. This Tuesday, after the First Team training session, a press conference will be held at the Villarreal CF Training Ground (Ciudad Deportiva) to announce the details of this agreement.
Álvaro González has asserted himself in the Yellow Submarine’s back line. In fact, since his arrival to the club at the start of the 2016/17 season, Álvaro has become more and more of a key figure for Villarreal. This season he is one of Javi Calleja’s most regular players, accumulating a total of 956 minutes in 10 LaLiga matches (866) and 1 UEFA Europa League game (90). Since his arrival, Álvaro González has played a total of 43 matches in which he has scored 1 goal and provided 2 assists.
