Etta Eyong led the Mini Submarine’s win with a brace to help them achieve their objective
Villarreal B put in a superb display at the Mini Estadi to convincingly beat Sevilla Atlético 3-0, thanks to a brace from Etta Eyong and an own goal following a cross from Víctor Valverde. The victory, which takes the Mini Submarine to 46 points, guarantees their place in the Primera Federación for next season.
Miguel Álvarez’s side came out firing from the very first whistle. Within the opening minute, a defence-splitting pass from Rodri found Viveros, who created the game’s first chance. Moments later, the clearest opportunity arrived in the 12th minute, when Víctor Valverde found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper, only to see his effort go narrowly wide.
The match was a high-intensity battle from both sides. After several dangerous moves from the home side, the breakthrough came in the 29th minute. Etta Eyong was brought down in the box and stepped up to convert the penalty himself (1-0). Just three minutes later, he was on target again — this time expertly finishing a cross from the right to double the lead (2-0, 32nd).
In the second half, Villarreal B continued to control possession and push forward. In the 55th minute, a low cross from Víctor Valverde caused trouble in the Sevilla Atlético defence, with Sergio M. inadvertently turning the ball into his own net to make it 3-0.
In the remaining half hour, the Yellows managed the game with maturity, staying compact at the back while dominating possession. Sevilla Atlético were unable to create any real danger as Villarreal B calmly saw out the match.
A vital win for the Mini Submarine, securing their place in the league with a game to spare.
