The Mini Submarine went ahead on the scoreboard, but the side from Madrid drew level late on thanks to a controversial penalty
Villarreal B drew against Fuenlabrada at the Mini Estadi (1-1). The Yellows were the better side throughout the game and managed to take the lead thanks to a Slavy goal, but the team from Madrid equalised in the closing stages with a goal from a controversial penalty scored by Cedric.
Villarreal B, with numerous absentees for this game, played with the wind at their backs in the first half, so they had to be very accurate when it came to connecting long passes.
The first chance of the game came from Requena, who shot from the penalty spot only for Lucas to make a spectacular save (m.15).
The opener came in the 34th minute. Víctor Valverde crossed from the left flank and the ball arrived at the far post for Slavy to send it into the back of the net.
In the second half, Villarreal B could have extended their lead, as Requena hit the post in the 52nd minute.
Fuenlabrada equalised late on with a controversial penalty for a foul by Etta Eyong. Cedric took the spot-kick to make the score 1-1.
Villarreal B’s next game will also be at the Mini Estadi against Algeciras (Sunday, 5:30pm CEST).
