The Yellows reserves get their third consecutive league victory after defeating Sabadell
Villarreal B are continuing to enjoy their excellent run of results and great play. The Yellows Reserves overcome Sabadell comfortably (4-1) and are now on a run of three wins in a row in the league, a streak that has seen them rise up the table.
Miguel Álvarez’s side were superior from the first minute. Despite that, they had to wait until the 28th minute for the first goal to come at the Mini Estadi. It came from Mukwelle Akale, who finished off a great counter-attack led by Samu Chukwueze.
With Ramón Bueno settled in the middle of the pitch and the ‘reinforcement’ of Manu Morlanes, the Mini Submarine dominated possession of the ball. The heat map of the match would have shown dominance in Sabadell’s defensive areas.
The goal to make it 2-0 also came from Akale. This time the American forward made the most of a loose ball in the box to fire past Roberto (m. 38).
The second half didn’t start well for the Yellows. Sabadell cut the lead through Arturo, who scored from a yard out (2-1, m.46)
Despite the visitors’ goal, Villarreal B didn’t lose focus and carried on dominating the game. The goal to make it 3-1 was a hard blow for Sabadell. Andrei escaped down the right wing, and from a tight angle, scored the Mini Submarine’s third.
And the final goal came in added time thanks to a confident header from Mario González (4-1).
The next Villarreal B match will be away to Peralada-Girona B.
