The Portuguese centre-back has shown his gratitude for the club’s effort to sign him
Renato Veiga was officially presented as a new Villarreal CF player this Tuesday in the press room at the Estadio de la Cerámica. Alongside the club’s president, Fernando Roig, the Portuguese defender shared his enthusiasm for wearing the Yellow Submarine shirt : “I’m very happy and grateful. Now it’s time to work hard to achieve the club’s goals”.
The Portuguese international expressed his commitment to working daily: “My main motivation is to do my best every day and leave the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground with a clear conscience, knowing that I have done everything possible.”
Renato reiterated his desire to repay the trust placed in him on the pitch: “My main goal is to try and repay the confidence they have put in me.” He also explained some of the reasons that led him to sign for Villarreal: “I already knew Villarreal and it’s a very big club. They presented me with an incredible project and showed me that they wanted me here.”
Veiga also highlighted some of his main qualities as a defender: “I’m a left-footed, versatile, aggressive, fast, and leadership-oriented centre-back.” However, from the very first moment, he made it clear his intention to continue growing: “I believe and I know that I have a lot of things to improve, also because of my age, but I consider that I’m in the optimal place to do it.”
Finally, regarding the team, the Portuguese defender expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome: “My teammates and the staff have received me very well from the first moment.” He also wanted to highlight the unity that is transmitted throughout the club: “Those who work here every day have conveyed a message to me that it’s a very family-oriented club. You can tell there is a lot of love for the club.”
