Vassilis has followed the Yellows for nearly two decades
Vassilis Kanteres lives in Athens, but has been a Villarreal fan for nearly 20 years. He fell in love with the Yellows in 2002, watching the Submarine’s first ever European participation in the Intertoto Cup.
He has seen the Yellows play in his home country twice, but dreams of going to Spain after COVID-19. He said: “I’ve seen Villarreal live in person twice in Greece, once against AEK Athens in 2007 in the UEFA Cup and once against Panathinaikos in 2009 in the Champions League. It was really amazing seeing the team live, but I really want to visit the Estadio de la Cerámica one day.”
Despite not being in Spain, he watches every match: “I never miss a game, thanks to cable TV in Greece. My favourite memory is the match against Inter at El Madrigal in the UEFA Champions League.”
