The midfielder, who missed the last pre-season because of injury, is sure he will start the league at 100%
Manu Trigueros appeared in front of the press to analyse the current goings-on regarding the Yellow Submarine, who got the ball rolling this week in terms of pre-season.
Unlike last season, Trigueros started pre-season alongside his team-mates, which is something he was unable to do just a year ago, when he had an adductor injury, which meant he had to undergo surgery and he was unable to take to the pitch for a number of weeks.
Finally, Trigueros started the season, appearing in the first league tie against Real Sociedad. However, after not having been able to complete pre-season, he was unable to show himself at his best and did not find the consistency he showed in previous campaigns. The talented midfielder underlined his excitement at returning and offering 100%: “I see myself in a good situation. Better than what I was hoping. This is an exciting year for me. I’m really eager to show the best of me. I’m working hard to do so. I know that if I’m at 100%, I’ll have minutes and I’ll be able to help the team.”
For the Yellows No.14, pre-season is a key part of the campaign to get to the start of the league well: “I’m getting into shape so I can have a good year and show off my quality. The first days are tough, but they’re important to get to the first match in a good shape.”
Moreover, Trigueros underlined his happiness to be wearing the Villarreal shirt for yet another season, this being his eighth in the first team: “I’m very happy to be with the club for another year and I’m eager to help the team with my style of play.”
