The Yellows Reserves are eager to start the league this weekend against Lleida Esportiu
High hopes. The Villarreal B team will start league play this weekend against Lleida Esportiu at the Camp d’Esports ground, with a renewed team that stands out for its youth once again. Not in vain, the majority of players have been moved up from the Villarreal C team and were competing in the Third Division last year.
Positive vibes. In fact, the Yellows Reserves only lost one match in preseason, showing how solid they are in defence with plenty of confidence in attack.
Miguel Álvarez’s side have only signed three new players from outside the club. These are defender Carlos Blanco and midfielders Emmanuel Lomotey and Adrián Riera. The rest of the Mini Submarine players are already well known by the fans.
Carlos Blanco, a reliable defender
Carlos Blanco Moreno (Barcelona, 6th January 1996) started his career in the Cornellà youth team and from there went on to play for RCD Espanyol, FC Barcelona, Juventus FC, Sport Lausanne-Sport, Gimnàstic de Tarragona and Real Betis B. Blanco is a strong centre back who provides excellent delivery out of the back.
Emmanuel Lomotey, a midfield powerhouse
Emmanuel Lomotey (Accra, Ghana, 19th December 1997) started his professional career at Dreams FC in the First Division in Ghana. In January 2018 he moved to Extremadura UD and from there he signed for Villarreal B. Emmanuel Lomotey is a powerful midfielder who strengthens the Yellows midfield.
Adrián Riera, speed and nerve for the left side
Adrián Riera (Murcia, 19th April 1996) is a left-footed winger who stands out for his speed and skill when taking on opponents. During his career, Adrián Riera has played for Atlético Levante, SD Formentera, La Roda CF and CD Toledo.
