Jorge Pascual, Forés and Del Moral scored for the B team against Eldense
The Mini Submarine came out all guns blazing to get their first win of the season and it didn’t take long for them to take the lead. ‘The Lion’ Jorge Pascual came roaring back and scored his first goal in an official match for Villarreal B after taking advantage of Tasende’s good cross and beating Guille at his pleasure.
After the goal, Villarreal B dominated the game with possession and positional attacks combined with some dangerous through balls that caused danger for Deportivo’s defence.
In one of these actions, Álex Forés took the opportunity to score his second of the afternoon by being lethal in a one-on-one with Guille. The score was very much in the Yellows’ favour, but Miguel Álvarez’s men wanted more and Ontiveros and Forés could have extended the lead in the first half. However, Ortuño pulled a goal back for Eldense after the cooling break.
With the score tight again, the Yellows knew they had to go again to extend the lead and, in the early stages of the second half, Del Moral headed home Ontiveros’ superb cross to put the third on the scoreboard.
In the final minute of the game CD Eldense were awarded a penalty to pull one back after the referee pointed to a dubious handball by Pablo Iñiguez. Marc Mateu, however, sent the ball over Iker Álvarez’s goal.
In the end, the Yellows were able to hold on to the lead and secured an important win to earn their first three points of the season.
Villarreal B, after the win against the team from Alicante, will be back in action next Saturday, when they face Elche, at 9.30pm CEST, at the Estadio Martínez Valero.
