Villarreal’s youth football tournament will involve more than 150 games this weekend at the Villarreal CF Training Ground

The Yellow Cup Summer is back! After a year break due to the pandemic, the Yellows biggest summer tournament returns with plenty of football and heaps of fun, in an edition that will include more than 150 matches in the U10, U12, girls’ U12, U14, U16, girls’ U16, and U19 age groups from from 2nd to 4th July.

In the current edition of the tournament, that kicks off this Friday, a total of 1450 players will compete from 62 participating teams. These teams will play in the spectacular Villarreal CF facilities: the Villarreal CF Training Ground and the Pamesa Cerámica Training Ground.

What’s more, several Yellows Academy teams will participate, including CD Roda youth teams. Other teams will be coming from all over Spain such as FB CF Santo Domingo and Seseña FC, from Toledo, CP Sarrià from Catalonia and Elda Unión CF y el CD Valle from Alicante. From our province, teams such as CE Vila d’Onda, UD Vall d’Uixó and CD Soneja will be competing.

Not only Spanish teams will be competing though. This prestigious tournament also has teams coming from other countries. Internacional Prospect Academy will represent the United States and FC Tecnico Berlin will represent Germany. Additionally, the Marcet Football Academy will participate with a team made up of players of different nationalities.

Off the pitch, the tournament welcomed all players, coaches and their families yesterday in a welcome ceremony. As a grand finale, the teams will visit the Estadio de la Cerámica on the weekend.
