The province’s largest youth football tournament will take place across six towns and 12 sporting venues
Villarreal CF is putting the final touches on preparations for the Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter 2026. This major tournament, organised by the Yellow Submarine, will take place from 2nd to 5th April in the province of Castellón.
A total of six municipalities and 12 sporting venues will host what is, year after year, the most popular youth football tournament in our region. Up to 268 teams from 101 different clubs will compete to be crowned champions in their respective age categories. A sporting spectacle featuring 628 matches and bringing together 4,000 players and 600 coaches from various parts of the world.
The event attracts more than 20,000 visitors —including relatives and football lovers— to our province. These impactful figures generate over 10,000 overnight stays in local hotels and create an impressive economic impact of 3 million euros.
Six municipalities, 12 sporting venues and 31 pitches
Vila-real, Les Alqueries, Benicàssim, Almassora, Nules and La Vall d’Uixó will act as hosts for this remarkable event, which will feature matches in José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground, Pamesa Cerámica Training Ground, Pau Francisco Torres Municipal Training Ground, Fundación Flors football pitch, all located in Vila-real; the Torre San Vicente and La Carrerassa football pitches in Benicàssim; the José Manuel Pesudo and Les Boqueres grounds in Almassora; the Les Alqueries football pitch;
the José Mangriñán Stadium and La Moleta in La Vall d’Uixó; and the Noulas Antonio Pérez Balada stadium in Nules. In total, 31 football pitches will host the more than 600 matches scheduled for this edition.
Over one hundred clubs from across the world
In terms of participation, the Yellow Cup Easter once again breaks its own record. In 2026, the tournament will bring together 268 teams from 101 clubs from all around the globe, reinforcing its international profile and continued growth.
Delegations from the United States, Canada, Colombia, Brazil, Puerto Rico, New Zealand, Armenia, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Romania will travel to Vila-real to enjoy several days of football, togetherness and excitement in a unique atmosphere.
At the national level, the Yellow Cup Easter will also feature a wide representation of teams from across Spain: Madrid, Catalonia, the Basque Country, Cantabria, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Navarre, La Rioja, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Andalusia, Extremadura, Aragón and the Valencian Community.
All of them will compete with the hope of producing a memorable performance and leaving their mark on the prestigious tournament organised by the Yellow Submarine.
Opening ceremony at La Cerámica
The competition will kick off with a spectacular opening ceremony on Thursday 2nd April, in the afternoon, at the iconic Estadio de la Cerámica, home of the Yellow Submarine.
The stadium will open its doors to welcome the participating teams, who will parade one by one across the pitch in a ceremony filled with symbolism and excitement. Throughout this edition, attendees will tour the club’s facilities, joining the passion and enthusiasm that surrounds this unique youth football tournament.
