Over 100 academy players enjoy the chance to compete on a Champions League stage
Villarreal CF hosted the second edition of the Villarreal Academy Cup this week—an exclusive tournament featuring the club’s international academies, played entirely on the prestigious pitch of the Estadio de la Cerámica.
A total of ten teams from six international academies, based in Mexico, Australia, the Philippines, Canada and the United States, competed in the U12 and U16 categories, enjoying top-level football in an unforgettable setting. The tournament welcomed more than 300 participants, including players and family members, to La Cerámica.
In addition to the international academies, the tournament also featured the Villarreal PDP team—a squad made up of players from the club’s Player Development Program. Young talents from India, Brazil, Bahrain, Dubai, Israel, Estonia and Iraq proudly wore the yellow shirt to represent Villarreal CF in this international showcase.
The event provided not only a unique opportunity to compete in an elite football stadium, but also an unforgettable educational and cultural experience, where players shared values, playing style, and their passion for football under the Villarreal CF philosophy.
With the continued growth of this exclusive tournament, Villarreal CF strengthens its global Villarreal Academy community, promoting the development of young talent around the world and bringing the Yellow Submarine experience to every corner of the planet.
