Villarreal B manager Miguel Álvarez predicts a frenetic match against Atlético Levante
Miguel Álvarez, Villarreal B manager, underlined that the team will put their heart and soul into getting a victory against Atlético Levante (Saturday, 6pm CEST), in the hope of confirming their places in the promotion play-offs as soon as possible. “We are hopeful about promotion. The boys deserve it. That’s our main aim. When you get to this stage of the season, it’s normal that you feel that pressure. We’re calm, the team will continue to give everything,” he commented.
Álvarez believes the team is having a spectacular season: “We have to be happy with what the team is achieving. Everything that could possible happen to us has happened and we’ve always been at the top with a very young team. It’s very commendable. The position in the table is important, but it is also important that the players grow along the way.”
Regarding the upcoming opponent, the Mini Submarine boss warned that Atlético Levante will be a tough opponent: “Now we have two games that are very different than the recent ones we’ve played. Atlético Levante are a team that are like us. I’m expecting a very good match in terms of footballing levels, and I only hope that the balance of the game tips in our favour.”
The Villarreal B manager did not want to give any clues about the possible starting lineup for this Saturday’s match: “We’ve only played the same starting XI once in two years. When you have so many youngsters, the same players don’t always play. They’re all competing and they all have to play.”
