Escribá calls out to Yellows fans for the league clash against Deportivo (Sunday, 8pm CET)
In today’s press conference, Villarreal Manager, Fran Escribá, highlighted the importance of the Yellows fans’ support for the match against RC Deportivo de La Coruña that will be played this Sunday, at 8pm CET at the Estadio de la Cerámica: “The push from the fans will be key. It’s a vital match and the crowd’s support is more important than people think”. Likewise, the Yellows boss expects a tough match against a rival that knows how to compete: “I expect it to be a difficult match. Deportivo are a team that is known for competing well against the big teams. They have a good squad, are very dynamic in the midfield and going forward and they’re playing to stay up”.
On the other hand, Escribá believes the Submarine’s chance to take away the three points depends on them being “solid” and “making as few mistakes as possible”. “We have the same game plan as we always do, to try and dominate possession all the while knowing that they can do us damage on the counterattack, but to take advantage of the spaces they leave open when this happens”. The Manager is also happy to have some players back for this final stretch: “Víctor Ruiz is in perfect condition to play and Bruno and Trigueros are feeling good again. I think we’ll have practically the full squad available for these last two fixtures”.
