Pacheta expects a tough match in Cyprus against Maccabi Haifa (Thursday, 6:45pm CET)
Villarreal CF head coach Pacheta appeared before the media in the press room of the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground to talk about tomorrow’s match against Maccabi Haifa, corresponding to Matchday 4 of the UEFA Europa League 2023/24 group stage.
Here is what he had to say
The match agains Maccabi Haifa
“It has a double significance. Conflicts unite a lot. We have to be very alert, play our game, improve and have those moments in the match when luck smiles on us a little. Let’s see if, with that and working to improve what we do well, we can win a match that will help us change the dynamic.”
“They are an opponent that has been playing a lot of 4-2-3-1. They have a very interesting playmaker and striker. They can also play with three centre-backs. We have to be active, a team that is faithful to what we are training. We must be more aggressive with and without the ball. I hope to be in control of the game with the ball. It’s a team that will try to create, but we have to adjust the nuances so that they can’t do that. We must be true to who we are, because that will bring us closer to victory.”
The team, ready
“We have already worked on the team and we will continue to do so. Now we have to put the finishing touches to it. We are going to expose the players to what they are going to face tomorrow. We have to make changes, because we have people in different circumstances. It’s important for everyone to feel important in this squad. We have to be effective in both areas.”
