Eleven Villarreal CF footballers have been called up by their national teams to play international fixtures during the current break
The Canadian national team has summoned Tajon Buchanan and Tani Oluwaseyi, who will face Romania and Wales in two friendly matches.
Argentine defender Juan Foyth will join the Albiceleste to play against Venezuela and Ecuador, both World Cup qualifying matches.
From Africa, Nicolas Pepe, Pape Gueye, Ilias Akhomach and Thomas Partey will represent Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Morocco and Ghana respectively in their road to the World Cup. Côte d’Ivoire will face Burundi and Gabon, while Senegal will meet Sudan and DR Congo. Meanwhile, Morocco will take on Niger and Zambia, and Ghana will play against Chad and Mali.
Renato Veiga and Georges Mikautadze have also been called up by their national teams. The Portuguese defender will face Armenia and Hungary, while the Georgian striker will play against Turkey and Bulgaria, all World Cup qualifiers.
The most recent arrival at the Submarine, Manor Solomon, will represent Israel in the qualifiers against Moldova and Italy, as part of their bid to reach the 2026 World Cup.
Lastly, Pau Navarro has been called up by Spain U20s to join their training camp ahead of the age group’s World Cup, which will take place in Chile between September and October this year. This week, they will play a double friendly against France on French soil.
