Villarreal arrive at the clash with Real Madrid in great form after three consecutive wins in LALIGA EA Sports (Saturday, 9pm CEST)
Villarreal CF face a high-level challenge against Real Madrid. The Yellow Submarine visit the Santiago Bernabéu this Saturday at 9pm to contest a demanding fixture and test Marcelino’s squad, who arrive at the match on the back of three successive LALIGA EA Sports victories.
The groguets have settled into third place in the table after claiming impressive wins against tough opponents such as Osasuna (2-1), Sevilla (1-2) and Athletic (1-0). Now, ahead of the upcoming international break, Villarreal face one of the season’s toughest tests: a trip to the Santiago Bernabéu.
After seven rounds and 16 points, Villarreal sit just two points behind Real Madrid, who occupy second place behind FC Barcelona (19 points). With the table so tight, a groguet victory at the Bernabéu would move Villarreal ahead of Xabi Alonso’s side in the standings.
Winning at the Bernabéu is as challenging as it is exciting. In their history, Villarreal have only beaten Real Madrid at the Bernabéu on two occasions. In the 2017/18 season, Pablo Fornals scored a historic winner (0-1), and more recently, in 2022/23, Samu Chukwueze led the way with a brilliant brace in a 2-3 triumph.
Real Madrid, a galactic rival
Real Madrid are a team packed with stars. Managed by Xabi Alonso, the squad boasts top-level players such as Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham – a side built to compete on all fronts.
Los Blancos enjoyed a perfect start to the season, winning their first six LALIGA matches and both Champions League fixtures. Their only defeat came in the Madrid derby against Atlético (5-2), which was their most recent league game. That loss makes them, if anything, an even more dangerous opponent, determined to bounce back against the groguets.
Moreover, Real Madrid’s No.9, Kylian Mbappé, is LALIGA EA Sports’ top scorer, netting eight goals in his opening seven matches.
