Marcelino insists that the support of the Yellows fans will be the key to another win
Villarreal CF head coach Marcelino García Toral spoke to the media in the press room at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground ahead of the match against CA Osasuna, which kicks off at 4:15pm CEST tomorrow at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
Marcelino has shown confidence in the good work his team has done during the week to face the match with guarantees against Osasuna, who he says are a very difficult opponent and are motivated to try and play in Europe. These were his most important statements:
The return of Gerard Moreno and Álex Baena
“They are two players that are coming back back and this is very good news for the five games we have left. They are two very important players and we are pleased that they are with us. Everyone is available except Raúl [Albiol] and Ilias [Akhomach].”
May, a key month
“It is a very attractive month and we are looking forward to it with enthusiasm and ambition. We want to achieve something that, thanks to the good work of the players, is possible. We are going to put all our game and attitude into this match to get the three points. Our objective is to maintain or improve on the fifth place we currently occupy.”
CA Osasuna, a difficult opponent
“Their five-game unbeaten run has led them to have aspirations of fighting for European competition and that motivates them, but we also have a lot at stake and we are a very competitive team. I expect a very difficult game, as I do against any team.”
The importance of the fans in the outcome of the match
“The club has done its part and we expect a great atmosphere. If we get the three wins at home, we will be very close to playing in the Champions League. The feeling of the fans cheering you on from the pitch is important and will make it more difficult for us to drop points at home.”
