The Villarreal striker received the award at the draw for the new edition of the competition celebrated in Istanbul
A well-deserved award. Gerard Moreno has been chosen as the 2020/21 UEFA Europa League Player of the Season ahead of Manchester United players Edinson Cavani and Bruno Fernandes.
Gerard was decisive in Villarreal’s title win in Gdansk, which was indeed against Manchester United. The Villarreal striker scored the Yellows goal and also fired home a penalty in the shootout. In total, throughout the competition, Gerard scored seven goals and provided five assists in the 12 matches played.
The award was announced at midday today in the draw for the Group Stages held in Istanbul for the next edition of the Europa League. Member of the Villarreal CF Institutional Relations department, Marcos Senna, participated in the draw.
