Villarreal players stepped onto the pitch wearing shirts in support of the Andalusian defender
Villarreal players took to the pitch before the match against RC Celta wearing shirts in support of the Sevilla defender. With the message ‘¡Fuerza, Alberto!’, (Stay strong, Alberto!) the players dedicated this emotional gesture to their team-mate to help him face the recovery period with optimism.
