Villarreal CF has taken part in the start of the first edition of the ‘Inclusive Sport Week’ in Nules

Villarreal ladies first-team players Naiara Ves and Lara Mata, as well as members of the club’s intellectually-disabled side (EDI), yesterday went to the launch of the first edition of the ‘Inclusive Sport Week’ in is taking part in Nules until 12th April. The week has the aim of fermenting sporting values between those taking part and also opening the the Young People’s Reception Centre in Nules to the whole of the city. It is part of an initiative by the Young Persons’ Reception Centre (Centro de Acogido de Menores – CAM) Plana Baixa, which depends on the Ministry of Equality and Inclusivity, and the Fundación Diagrama, a non-profit organisation which works on helping vulnerable people or those with social difficulties.

The opening day of the first edition of the ‘Inclusive Sport Week’ took part at the CAM Plana Baixa facilities. The Villarreal players coached the youngsters and then took part in a series of physical activities.

Today (Tuesday 9th April), basketball will take centre stage, with a chat and basketball session with TAU players, as well as an inclusive basketball match which COCEMFE Castelló will take part in at the Polideportivo Municipal.

Tomorrow (Wednesday 10th April), there will be a padel tennis session at the Scude facilities in Nules, with a chat with an ATP tennis player and inclusive tennis session, with local charity ESTEM being involved.

Planned activities for Thursday 11th April will take part at the CAM Plana Baixa and will involve a talk about sporting motivation, as well as further inclusive sports activities.

The week will finish on Friday 12th April with a walk backing inclusive sport which will take part on the biohealth route, as well as a zumba masterclass.

It is worth noting that the CAM Plana Baixa work with Villarreal’s U16s as part of the Endavant Igualtat project.
