The B side have picked up their first win of the season after beating La Nucía with goals from Dani Tasende (p) and Agüero
Simply spectacular. Villarreal B picked up their first win of the season thanks to a great comeback with just ten men against La Nucía. The home side went ahead through Neftalí, but in the closing moments, and after the sending off of Ahn, the Yellows’ reserves managed to turn the game around thanks to goals from Dani Tasende (from the penalty spot) and Juan Agüero. This was La Nucía’s first loss at the Camilo Cano Olympic Stadium since it was opened. Unforgettable.
Miguel Álvarez lined up with a 4-3-3 with Juan Antonio Ros at the base of the midfield, helping the two centre-backs in defensive situations.
The first big chance of the game went to the Yellows. Diego Collado broke into the box and fired off a powerful shot that went over the bar (m.6). It was a shame after his hard work to get there.
La Nucía were able to take their chances, scoring with the first opportunity they got. Neftalí made it 1-0, with a pin-point header from a corner (m.18). The Yellows had to try and turn the game around.
Miguel Álvarez looked to the bench at half-time to change things, bringing on Ahn and Alex Forés, looking for more danger in attack.
After a great opportunity for Álex Millán to score, Ahn was sent off. The South Korean saw two yellow cards in quick succession, and Villarreal B had to play with ten men from the 77th minute. That didn’t daunt them, however.
Hassan, a key figure
Haissem Hassan coming on with a quarter of an hour to go was crucial. The French attacker won a penalty after a great piece of individual play, which Dani Tasende just about scored to make it 1-1 in the 84th minute.
That wasn’t where Hassan’s impressive performance end. In added time, he popped up on the left, to beat his man and pick out a cross to the back post for Juan Agüero, who made it 1-2, to the delight of the Yellows.
