The young footballer, who arrives from Maccabi Hadera WFC, joins the Yellows for the final stretch of the season
Villarreal CF have reached an agreement with Simona Meijer, who strengthens the women’s first team for the final stretch of the season. The player, born in the Netherlands and raised in North Macedonia, arrives from Maccabi Hadera WFC, an affiliated club of Villarreal CF through the Villarreal Academy project, which competes in the Ligat Nashim (Israel’s top division).
Simona Rebekka Meijer (Netherlands, 16/06/2005) is a left-footed player who can operate both as a left-back and as a winger. She stands out for her vision of the game and her excellent crossing ability. Previously, Simona has also represented ŽFK Cool and ŽFK Istatov in North Macedonia, as well as Icelandic side Keflavík ÍF.
It is also worth noting that Meijer is a North Macedonia international. After progressing through the Macedonian national team’s youth ranks (U15, U17 and U19), she made her senior debut in 2023.
