Six Yellows players have been called up by their countries for the international break
Ayoze Pérez and Yeremy Pino (Spain), Ilias Akhomach (Morocco), Pape Gueye (Senegal) and Logan Costa (Cape Verde) and Iker Álvarez (Andorra) are the six Villarreal CF players who have been called up to represent their countries during the international break.
Ayoze, who is in the squad once more after being named Euro 2024 champion, and Yeremy, who returns to the squad after a long-term knee injury, and return in the first few games of the season, will play the first two matches of the 2024/25 UEFA Nations League group stage.
Ilias also returns to the Morocco squad after winning a bronze medal at the Olympic Games, and will take part in the first two qualifiers for the next edition of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Pape Geye and Logan Costa have also been called up by Senegal and Cape Verde for their countries’ AFCON qualifiers.
Villarreal B goalkeeper Iker Álvarez will represent Andorra, who will play a friendly against Gibraltar and a Nations League tie against Malta.
