The Villarreal assistant head coach was frustrated after his side went down to ten men so early on against Celta
Villarreal CF assistant head coach Rubén Uría expressed his frustration that the Submarine were reduced to one man down so early in the game against Celta due to Bailly’s red card in the 36th minute. ‘We have four reed cards this year. They told us it’s because he was the last man and because of the trajectory of the ball. We are angry because we lost. Tantrums don’t do any good. The referee considers it a red card and we have to accept it. Now we have to think about Sunday, which is a very important match,’ he commented.
With ten on the pitch it was more tricky. “Celta attack very well and have good players. Being down a man was a hard blow and then the first goal really hurt us. Our idea was to control the game and attack, but we didn’t get it right. We weren’t good on the ball. Then the sending off hurt us against a team that attacks as well as Celta,” said Uría.
The next challenge for the Yellows will be to overcome Espanyol at the Estadio de la Cerámica (Sunday, 4:15pm CEST). “We’re going to see how the team feels. There’s no other option. We have a chance to make things better very quickly. On Sunday at home we have to win that game and if we do we’ll have our aspirations intact,” he concluded.
