The Villarreal striker was rewarded by the ‘Passió Groga’ Fan Club for his performance in 2015/16
This evening Villarreal striker, Roberto Soldado, received the ‘Yellow Boot’ (‘Bota Groga’) award as recognition for his excellent performance in the 2015/16 season. The Yellows number 9 attended the celebration event at the Headquarters of the Villarreal CF Fan Club Association (Agrupación de Peñas del Villarreal CF), where dozens of fans had photographs taken with him and got his autograph too, in a pleasant evening for fans and footballer.
As a thank you, Roberto Soldado gave the ‘Passió Groga’ Fan Club a signed shirt, which will certainly take pride of place at the Headquarters. The President of the ‘Passió Groga’ Fan Club, María Jesús Iglesias, responded to this gesture by presenting Soldado with a flag of the Fan Club in an exchange of gifts that was met by rapturous applause from the audience.
The fans recognized Roberto Soldado’s spectacular performance in the 2015/16 campaign, although he has been kept on the sidelines so far this season after he suffered an unfortunate, serious knee injury in preseason. In the 2015/16 season, Soldado played 44 matches (3,378 minutes), in which he scored 8 goals and gave 15 assists to his teammates.
The winner of this award is chosen by Fan Club members and online users, who vote for the Submarine’s best player after every match.
