Villarreal CF has collobrated with the Fire Prevention Week for the third consecutive season
Villarreal wanted to show its support, for the third season in a row, to the Fire Prevention Week, which starts today, 23rd November, with the name ‘La prevención empieza desde la base’ (Prevention starts from the foundations). With ‘base’ also meaning youth football in Spain, our youth players Jonathan Cánovas López, José Vicente Gozalbo Martínez and Jaime Esteban from our U14s B (Infantil b) and Salvador Serrano Salazar and Santi Mulet from our U16s B (Cadete B) went to the Firefighters Park in Nules to be part of this initiative.
The academy youngsters had a great experience, getting into the firefighters’ shoes. They listened with interest to the professionals from Nules Fire Station and they were able to get into to their shoes, get in an engine and put out a small ‘fire.’ It was a simulation which helped the Yellows Academy youngsters come out of the experience knowing what life is like for firefighters.
The campaign is run by the Asociación Profesional de Técnicos de Bomberos (Professional Association of Firefighter Technicians’ which alongside 35 Extinction and Prevention of Fire services from across Spain has organised the Fire Prevention Week since 2006.
The objective of this project is to increase the awareness of risks that may be around for fires, and how you can stop fires, and if there is a fire, how to minimise its consequences. The Consorci Provincial de Bombers de Castelló (The Castellón Firefighters Committee) will be present outside the Estadio de la Cerámica in the fan zone ahead of the match with Real Betis this Sunday (kick-off 8:45pm CET). There will be three fire engines, a canine unit, a health and aquatic rescue unit, as well as a photocall for fans who want photos.
Once more, Villarreal underlined its commitment to involving sport in the society.
