Villarreal will face the Hungarian side on Saturday 24th July at the opening of the Bozsik Arena
Villarreal CF has now confirmed the first of its pre-season friendlies. The Yellows will face Budapest Honvéd FC on Saturday 24th July (time TBC). Despite being a friendly, it is a special event, as it will be the inaugural game to be played at the spectacular Bozsik Arena, the first UEFA Elite Stadium in Hungary.

Budapest Honvéd FC are the first opponents confirmed for Villarreal’s pre-season. The team from the Hungarian capital have an impressive trophy cabinet. They have won 14 league titles and eight cups. In continental competition, they lifted the Mitropa Cup in 1959.
The Hungarian side have a glorious history. Players such as Ferenc Puskás, József Bozsik, Zoltán Czibor and Sándor Kocsis all played for the club. The spine of the Hungarian national side that shone in the 1950s.
