A better Villarreal keeps the three points against Eibar with a goal scored by Vietto
The Submarine earned a good reward for its consistency against Eibar on their visit to El Madrigal, winning by 1-0 on a match where the Yellows played better. Vietto scored his 11th goal of the season, contributing to secure three valuable points for the Submarine. This victory keeps Marcelino’s men on 6th place with a comfortable advantage over its pursuers on the table.
The match had new CB Eric Bailly playing his first minutes for Villarreal. Young Sergio Marcos repeated starting position on midfield and performed a very good match, without losing any ball and choosing the best passing option at all times. Marcelino rotated several key positions to allow the starters to rest due to the big load of upcoming games.
The Submarine is now focused on Thursday’s Europa League match against Salzburg.
