The Castellón-born beach volleyball player was the first athlete to be part of Villarreal CF’s sponsorship program

Beach volleyball player Pablo Herrera, as well as Sebastián Mora and Thierry Ndikumwenayo, are three athletes from Endavant Esports who will represent Villarreal CF at the Olympic Games, which will take place from 26th July – 11th August in Paris (France). These athletes will be joined by Yellows players Álex Baena – the recently crowned European champion – and Ilias Akhomach.

Record number of appearances in beach volleyball

By participating in the Olympic Games 2024, Castellon-born Herrera will break the record for the most appearances in beach volleyball at the Olympic Games with six. Paris will be his last Olympics. “Ultimately it reflects all the consistency that I have had in my career and I’m very happy to be able to reach that number”, Herrera says.

20 years in partnership with Villarreal CF

Herrera’s connection to Villarreal CF dates back to 2004, after he won the silver medal at the Athens Olympic Games. Herrera expressed his gratitude to the club: “Pablo Herrera’s career cannot be understood without Villarreal. Just after the 2004 Athens Oympic Games we began the partnership. Many things have happened and Villarreal have always been there. Not only in economic terms, but also in the way they treat athletes.”
