The club signs the Castellón native midfielder, who played for the Yellows Academy for five seasons
Villarreal CF and Pablo Fornals have come to an agreement for the native of Castellón to play for the Yellow Submarine for the next five seasons. Fornals returns to the club that he represented for five years as part of the Yellows Academy (#CanteraGroguet) from the 2003/04 season through to the 2007/08 campaign. The official presentation of Pablo Fornals as a new Villarreal CF player will be celebrated this Tuesday 25th July at 8:30pm CEST at the official shop in the Plaza Mayor in Vila-real
Pablo Fornals Malla (Castellón, 22/02/1996) started his football career at ACD Benicense in Benicàssim and then moved to Villarreal CF to play for the U8. He stayed at the Yellows Academy for five seasons and subsequently went on to play for CD Castellón for four campaigns. From there he moved to Málaga CF to play for their U19 team, where he moved up the ranks and soon went on to represent the white-and-blues first team, making his debut at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium against Real Madrid CF on 26th September 2015.
Since then, Fornals has played 59 matches in the First Division and 4 in the Copa del Rey and has scored a total of 10 goals in two seasons. His performance has led him to represent both the U21 and Senior Spain national teams, with one cap for each.
