The team’s young players have already played together for many years
Work and talent. What are we going to do? Win! What are we going to do? Win! Who are we? Villarreal! That’s how the kids from the U11s (Alevín B) gee themselves up before going onto the pitch to play.
They’re only ten years old, but they have a torrent of talent. You only have to see how they are with a ball at their feet. One of their coaches is Víctor Silva, who knows very well about the talent he has in his hands: “The kids are really talented. What’s more, they always have a great attitude to work.”
The coaching team don’t want to put unnecessary pressure on the team in terms of results: “We don’t really think about achievements, rather on more about getting better. The objective is that a player is constantly becoming a better footballer and a better person,” he explained.
One of the strong points about this team is its rapport, with many of the players having spent years sharing a dressing room. “They’re like a family. It’s us, the coaches, who’ve had to introduce ourselves and start from scratch with them,” he added.
Every day is a learning curve. “The most important thing for us is that every player understands the style of play as much as possible, that they understand what they can bring to the team, and above everything else, that they’re enjoying themselves,” Silva concluded. The U11s are definitely heading in the right direction.
