The Villarreal B head coach has predicted a great match between two very young B teams with a lot of quality B (Saturday, 7:30pm CEST)
Villarreal B head coach, Miguel Álvarez, spoke to the media this Friday to analyse the upcoming match against Real Madrid Castilla, corresponding to Matchday 3 of Primera Federación, which will be played this Saturday at 7:30pm CEST at the Mini Estadi.
The coach from Jaen predicts a great game: “Similar to the one against Betis Deportivo the other day. With a lot of quality players on the pitch, a lot of young players, newcomers to the league, but with a lot of talent. It will be good to see. They are a very competitive team and we think it will be a very good game of football.”
A duel that will take place at the Mini Estadi, a ground to which they have returned after a year and a half’s adventure at La Cerámica: “We are always happy with the people who come. There are two readings, as going in I prefer to play at La Cerámica. Playing there speeds up the whole process. It’s not the same being at the Mini as at La Cerámica, but it’s true that at the Mini we seem to have more support. Here the opponents who come here suffer a lot.”
The absence of league competition for Villarreal allows them to have players come into the squad for the B team: “It’s good for us to recover players. Etta Yong, Arnau Solà and Pau Navarro are players we have hardly been able to count on so far. With the first team, they compete and grow quickly, but it’s also important to work with them on certain automatisms. This week we’ve focused a lot with them on the formaytion, as we’ve changed the distribution on the pitch, as well as set pieces. We’re happy to have them, but we’re also happy when they’re helping the first team.”
The Mini Submarine will have to cope with the absence of Ayouba, who was shown the red card in a controversial action: ‘It disrupts our plans a little bit. But we have Pau Navarro, who can play there. Joseda also asked us to substitute him last week. We have to see how we can reorganise the defence. What is clear is that the more weapons you have, the stronger you are as a team.”
