The Villarreal B head coach takes stock of the Mini Submarine’s recent results and analyses Atlético Sanluqueño
Villarreal B head coach, Miguel Álvarez, appeared before the media this Friday to analyse the match against Atlético Sanluqueño, corresponding to Matchday 32 of the 2024/25 Primera RFEF season, which will be kick-off at 12pm this Sunday at El Palmar.
Two games against direct rivals
“Whoever you play against, if you win, it gives you peace of mind. There is tremendous equality in the competition. What we have to do is learn from what is happening now. We have to know that this category demands a bit more, and the game against Algeciras showed us that the other day. We have to be more demanding.”
Competing to the maximum
“Atlético Sanluqueño are on a very good run at home and even more so with the new head coach. Of the eight games they have played at home, they haven’t lost any of them, and in the last one they even beat the leaders, who were Antequera at the time. On top of that, they are now playing at home with their fans, so they are going to push hard. It’s a game in which we have to have personality. You have to work hard for 90 minutes. It’s true that we competed more or less well, although we need to adjust certain details.”
Analysis of the rival: Atlético Sanluqueño
“I’m expecting a game in which they’re going to put a lot of pressure on us, as they’re playing at home in front of their fans. They are an intense team, with very good set pieces and quick transitions. I’m expecting a difficult game, as it couldn’t be any other way. It’s a game where a lot is at stake, and they’re not going to make it easy for us at their ground.”
