The Villarreal B head coach has warned about the side from Alicante’s quality, despite their precarious current situation in the league (Sunday, 12pm CET)
Villarreal B head coach, Miguel Álvarez, spoke to the media to analyse the match against CF Intercity, which will be played this Sunday at the Estadio Antonio Solana, kicking off at 12pm CET.
“The boys are doing very well. We have them working well and we’re very happy with them. We’re going to continue in the same way. Against Intercity, we are expecting a very difficult game, like all the away games, and it will be a very important match for them’ said the Mini Submarine boss in his opening comments.
He also warned that Intercity are going through an unfair situation for their level of football: “I don’t think it will be a surprise. We know the opponents in this division and we know that Intercity’s situation is unreal and unfair, because they have some great players, but inevitably the circumstances are affecting them. They have had a lot of important absentees and that weighs on them.”
Miguel Álvarez also praised the side from Alicante’s recent games at home: “They’ve been very good. They’re not playing badly, but it’s true that they’re very short of manpower and that’s penalising them. We’re going to try to compete as always. If we don’t, we’ll make a mess of things.”
He also underlined the great parity between the teams in Primera RFEF: “There’s a six-point gap between the teams at the top and there are a lot of points in this category. There is tremendous equality and the difference between winning and losing is minimal. The B teams have a very difficult time in this division because they are very strong teams.”
