The Villarreal B head coach predicts a great show against Lleida Esportiu (Saturday, 5pm CET)
Villarreal B manager Miguel Álvarez underlined this lunchtime that the upcoming match on Saturday (5pm CET) against Lleida Esportiu will be full of passion. And it will not be in vain, with the Mini Estadi hosting first versus second in Segunda División B Group 3. Only a point separates the two sides. “It’s a massive match in every way possible. It will be tough for both sides because we are similar teams and both sides can inflict damage on the other,” he analysed.
For the head coach, winning at home will be crucial throughout the second round of fixtures, which starts with the match against the Catalan side: “We’re playing at home and the points are essentials. If we win playing at home, you are well on your way. Away from home, it is harder. We want to be very strong at the Mini Estadi.”
In the first league match of the season, Villarreal B lost 2-1 to Lleida Esportiu. “We’re not like that team from the first matchday at all. From that lineup, there were only two players starting in the last match. We’ve grown throughout the season so far. Furthermore, anyone of the players in our squad is good enough to play. Making the matchday squad is hard,” he added.
Regarding the upcoming opponent, Álvarez highlighted their danger: “Lleida Esportiu have a very good squad. They have high-quality players. They’re a good team, but so are we. Up front, their two strikers have 22 goals between them, which is more than some teams have scored. We are also hungry to get important objectives, but we have to respect the opponent.”
